The raw water pump station for a large manufacturing plant in South Carolina was nearly dry due to the recent drought. The water level in the river was such that the water wouldn't flow into the pump station. The solution was two(2) 8" pumps with capacities of 3.5 MGD at the required 23' static suction lift on 80 lf of suction piping each. The large gates on the pump station were closed and the Dyna-Prime pumps were able to lift the water from the river and discharge directly into the wet well. The ACME Dynamics pumps allowed for fast priming via the 60 CFM vacuum pump and delivered so much volume that the discharge pipe had to be secured in place.
A utility contractor in North Carolina needed a sewer
bypass system and plugs immediately. The job was approximately 60 miles form Hinson Pump
Rental, Inc. and required things to go together perfectly due to eminent danger of a
spill. A trailer of quick connect Bauer Pipe was dispatched within 5 minutes of HPR
receiving the call. 1000lf of pipe was deployed and connected in approximately 45 minutes,
at which time the pump was positioned. The speedy deployment of the pipe trailer and the
on site expertise of HPR personnel had the customer pumping in less than two hours from
the time of the initial call.
A rock quarry in eastern North Carolina was flooded due to excessive rain. The vast acreage of the pit and depth of nearly 100 ft. made this an impossible job for most large portable pumps. The Hinson solution to this problem was an SF400TV375 16" pump. The trailer-mounted unit was towed into place. With a flow rate of 8000 GPM at a total head of 150 feet, this pump was suitable for the entire job, and delivered full volumes even on long discharge lines and high discharge heads.
